監督はシリーズ5作品を担当した佐伯清。城下町・金沢を舞台に、渡世人たちの生きざまを描く。高倉健に加え、鶴田浩二、松方弘樹、ヒロインに松原智恵子らが参加。

Highlight

ストーリー

獄中生活を終えた秀次郎は、前橋の黒田一家に草鞋を脱ぐ。ところが、黒田の女房が風間文三という若衆と駆け落ちしたことから、彼らを追って金沢へ向かうことに。金沢では三州一家と稲葉一家が敵対関係にあり、秀次郎の昔の恋人が三州の女房になっていた。

Story
Shujiro finishes his imprisonment and gives his straw sandals to the Kuroda family in Maebashi. However, since Kuroda's wife eloped with a young man named Bunzo KAZAMA, she went to Kanazawa in pursuit of them. In Kanazawa, the Sanshu and Inaba families were hostile, and Shujiro's old lover had become Sanshu's wife.
